Terms of use
BetaLast updated: August 2026
Simple Goals is in closed beta, by invitation. These terms cover how it is used during that phase. They are deliberately short and written in plain English.
A beta, provided as is
Access is free during the beta. In exchange, the service is provided as is, with no warranty of any kind.
Availability is not guaranteed. The service can be stopped, slowed or restarted without notice, for maintenance as much as for a failure.
Bugs are possible, data loss included. The nightly backups reduce that risk without removing it — keep your own copy of what really matters.
Your data stays yours
You own everything you write in the app. No rights are claimed over your content.
You can export your data and delete your account at any time from Settings. The export is one complete JSON file, so you are never locked in.
Your account
Access is by invitation. Your invitation code and your credentials are personal: do not share them.
You answer for what happens from your account. Report any access you did not authorize as soon as you notice it.
What the service is for
Use the service for what it is: a personal goal notebook.
Off limits: unlawful content, any attempt to reach another account's data, load or intrusion testing that was not agreed beforehand, and automated use that degrades the service for everyone else.
An account that breaks these rules can be suspended, with a warning first whenever that is possible.
If the service stops
The beta can end, change shape or become paid. In that case you get at least thirty days' notice by email, and the export stays available until the shutdown.
A paid plan is expected later. No card is stored today, and nothing is ever charged without your explicit agreement. You can leave whenever you want, with no reason to give and no fee.
Liability
The service is free and in beta, so the publisher's liability is limited to what the law allows. It covers neither indirect damage nor loss of business. Liability the law does not let anyone exclude, such as gross negligence or intentional fault, is untouched by this clause.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Swiss law, and the place of jurisdiction is the publisher's domicile in Switzerland. If you are a consumer, the mandatory rules of your own country still protect you, and you keep the right to bring a case where you live.
